Quest diagnostics customer service get human10/10/2023 I asked to speak with *****'s supervisor, *****, directly. There wasn't a resolution to my problem of being billed (twice now!) for unauthorized lab tests totaling $50.70. She then consulted her supervisor, ***** for a long time. ***** said she didn't see an authorization, then agreed with me that this was a "real mess". I requested to know who authorized the additional testing that I was being billed for. I also stated I felt traumatized that additional, unauthorized blood had been drawn from me, as I am extremely fearful of needles. I told her the woman who **** my blood seemed confused by the lab order & how to enter it in her computer. I stated I only had my blood drawn once & I only submitted 1 lab requisition which was fully covered by my insurance co. She could not explain the billing charge except to say I have received "additional lab work" that was not ordered by this requisition & that I would have to pay for it. She verified the correct lab requisition from my doctor had been submitted by me & was on file. To date, I have received 2 bills from Quest (one stating payment is "Now Past Due"). On 6/6/23, I went to Quest Diagnostics for lab work with a lab requisition from my doctor coded Z00.00 for routine physical lab work which is covered at 100% by my insurance company (I verified this with my insurance company). This is negligent, unethical, and dangerous, as I work with a vulnerable population and could unknowingly be spreading this parasite among the unhoused population in ********, not to mention the baby I spent last weekend with, as the results were meant to be in before the weekend. Not one service representative can give me an explanation as to why my test results are delayed, nor can they give me any accurate information on when they will be available. Each time, the only information I get is that my results will be available "tomorrow." But the results are NEVER available. Since then, I have called Quest EVERY SINGLE DAY, sometimes multiple times a day, attempting to get ANY information whatsoever on where my test results are and whether or not I tested positive for the parasite. I called that day and was told the results would be available the next business day, 8/14. I was told the test results would be available within 2-3 days, so on or around 8/11. I submitted a sample for parasite testing on. They just keep sending me bills for said amount, which I will refuse to pay unless they reduce it to something more reasonable. I have called the clinic, my insurance, and Quest multiple times, but there has been no resolution. Quest Diagnostics has refused to negotiate the rates at all, and when I asked to speak with a manager, they said someone would call me back, and no one ever did. I've had this type of blood panel done many times, and that's what insurance pays. Quest Diagnostics would have gladly accepted $100 or $200 that an insurance plan would have paid. It was about $1479 for some simple bloodwork that I could have paid $100 or $200 if I just paid out of pocket or if my insurance discounted it to the insurance rates. Instead of billing me the reduced insurance rate or out of pocket cash rate, Quest has billed me the full non-discounted rate that was billed to insurance. My insurance rejected the claims sent from Quest Diagnostics, saying that this was preventative care. I went to a clinic to get some simple routine blood work done to try to diagnose some pain I was having. The agent who sold it to me failed to tell me this. I got a new health insurance plan that does not cover preventative care. I went to my local urgent care, *********************** on as I was having some abdominal pain.
